March 2-4, 2012 will be the 18th annual Outdoor Show at Mcdonald Garden Center. Black Goose has been a participant for several years. This is a tradition for us. There will be vendors with new ideas to help improve your home. Some of the major vendors will be home decorating, gardening, travel, entertaining, and home improvements. We have met new friends, caught up with some old friends, and even learned a few things along the way. There is food, fun, and lots of great people. So make your plans to come out and see us. Stop by our booth and mention that you saw this on our website and get a sweet prize! See you there.
Black Goose will be attending the National Chimney Sweep Guild convention on February 13 through 18. Jim Bostaph and John Kerr will be representing Black Goose, in Orlando, Florida. We are looking forward to all the new ideas that they will bring back. This is the annual convention and there will be many vendors and chimney sweeps from across the country. Keep watching as we share all of the new things we learn.
Cold weather does a few things for us. It helps change the leaves to beautiful colors, it makes our grass dormant so there is no need for cutting, and last but certainly not least it makes us appreciate the warm days of Spring. Now for the bad news, the cold weather is going to be here for a while. There are some things we need to watch for when we are trying to stay warm. The thought of a nice blazing fire in our fireplace is comfy and at times romantic, the one rule to remember is there is a fire in our house. Keep this in mind when burning a nice cozzy fire.
Over the holidays there were several accounts of house fires and chimney fires. We at Black Goose want to remind you to get your chimney inspected every year and swept as needed. If you have questions about scheduling your inspection or sweep please call us at Black Goose Chimney 757-596-2298. Please enjoy the winter but remember to be careful!
As we start our new year there are so many things we say we are going to do, or stop doing. How many people are working out everyday? How about changing those bad eating habits? We at Black Goose want to help you keep one of your resolutions. Black Goose is a member of the National Fireplace Institute, Certified in Dryer Vent sweeping, and Fire Investigation and Research and Education, therefore issues with your chimney, fireplace, or dryer we can help you resolve. Our goal is to offer the best customer service in the business. As this year continues we will keep you up to date on any news we have, or ways to improve your fireplaces and dryers.
So remember “The blacker the goose the cleaner the chimney”
