Thanksgiving is here and Christmas is right around the corner! While we love holiday decorations, we’ve seen a distressing number of photos in magazines and on pinterest that show dangerous decorating. For example, in the photo on the left, there are pine cones on a lit stove. Pine cones are flammable, and do not belong anywhere within 3 feet of your stove, much less on the top as decoration.
While some newer models of woodstoves have closer clearances on the sides, it’s vitally important that you know the recommendations for your stove model and follow them. If you’re uncertain of the clearance recommendations for your stove, check the manufacturer’s website. If your model doesn’t have a manual, call us and we may be able to track one down.
